For each sales technology category, Gartner provides a brief reference list of “sample vendors” in the space.

According to the Gartner report, companies deploy an SPM solution primarily to manage incentive compensation, with the goals of “gaining new operational efficiencies; improving incentive compensation management and territory and quota management; and gaining better visibility into compensation plans.” Gartner identifies the top three SPM benefits as “operational efficiency, optimization of SPM processes and plans, and cost reduction.”
