Life Is Bigger Than Software: Looking at the Big Picture

For the fifth consecutive year, Jeff Yoder from beqom will be biking across Swaziland in May as part of a  fundraising drive to help orphans of AIDS. Jeff has been working at beqom since 2009 and has been at the core of developing beqom’s initiatives towards social responsibility.

beqom has been built from the beginning as a truly global company, a characteristic which is strongly rooted in our DNA.  As a result, we are always looking at the big picture and realize that life is bigger than software. For this reason, beqom has been a strong supporter of  a charitable organization called Young Heroes.

Young Heroes supports orphans of AIDS in Swaziland, which has the highest AIDS rate in the world, providing food, clothing, and school fees so that children can stay healthy and stay in school.

beqom’s support of Young Heroes began in 2011 when Jeff first biked across Swaziland to raise awareness and funds for this great cause. This year, Jeff will cover 350 km on his bicycle riding through mountains and villages with beqom encouraging him on every pedal.

When asked why he chose to participate every year in this venture, Jeff said: “I was lucky to be born to good parents in a prosperous country, to have holidays and birthday parties and presents and a good education.  I’d like to see every child get a fair chance in life.

Jeff’s goal is to raise US$10,000. to help these young boys and girls of Swaziland survive and have a future.

Do you want to help Jeff in his big-hearted fund-raising campaign?
